The Times is raising its Monday through Saturday newsstand prics in all regionsfrom $1.50 to $2. “We regret havintg to raise rates at this time of financial challengre for so many acrossthe nation,” says New York Timex spokeswoman Diane McNulty in an e-mailede statement. “It is howeve r one of a number of stepws we must take in order to secure the core qualities that define The Times and make it so highlu valued by the mostdiscernintg readers.” The Times is following othe newspapers in raising revenue where it can in the face of fallinb advertising sales.
