Auburn University generated $59.67 millioh in revenue in 2007-2008 and the University of Alabama broughtin $57.37 milliomn in the report by SportsBusiness Journal, a sister paperf of the Birmingham Business Journal, using Equity in Athleticx Disclosure Act forms. The University of Texas rankedf No. 1 with $72.9t million followed by the University of Georgiqwith $67.05 million, University of Florida with $66.1 Ohio State University with $65.16 million and Notrse Dame University with $59.77 million. The remaining 10 teamw in football revenues were the Universityt ofMichigan (No. 7 with $ 57.46 Penn State University (No. 9 with 53.76 and Louisiana State University (10th with $52.68 million).
As for overalol sports revenues, Auburn ranked seventh with $89.3 1 million and Alabama came in eighthwith $88.87 Texas was the overall top sports earner with $120.28 millionh generated from all athletic Ohio State was second with $117.95 millionj and Florida was third with $106.03 million. Other Southern schools ranking in the top 20 in overal sports revenues were the University of Tennesseed at ninthwith $88.72 million and LSU at 12th with $84.1 million.
